Anahit Nersisyan in the Western Diocese’s 2017 Anniversary Concert

Anahit Nersisyan was among the performers named in the Western Diocese’s report on its 90th-anniversary concert in Glendale. The event took place on October 15, 2017, at the John Wayne Performing Arts Center, the auditorium at Glendale High School.

A shared stage

The Diocese’s account, published on October 20, describes a sold-out concert under the theme “The Armenian Church.” Alongside Nersisyan, the named performers included Grigor Ogaryan, Arman Nshanyan, Ani Christy, Razmik Mansuryan, and Harout Pamboukjian.

The program also included children from Armenia’s Armen Tigranyan Music School, choirs, and dance ensembles. This combination of individual artists and larger groups placed the evening within a broad community celebration.

Why this concert belongs in the archive

An artist’s history includes shared programs as well as solo concerts. This report documents one such appearance and identifies the event’s setting. It does not provide an individual song list for Nersisyan, so the archive entry makes no claim about which works she performed.

For readers exploring her work, a community concert and a solo recording answer different questions. The concert record shows a particular gathering of people and institutions; a recording lets you spend time with an individual interpretation.
